Sing Song tickets still available for the weekend

While some 8,000 people are expected to catch “Wild at Heart,” the 56th annual Abilene Christian University Sing Song this weekend, some good seats are still available for two of the three shows in Moody Coliseum.

Saturday night’s performance is sold out but the Friday night (8 p.m.) and Saturday afternoon (2 p.m.) shows still have room, according to Tom Craig (’89), ACU’s director of student activities and productions. Tickets can be ordered online at the Sing Song website and picked up at Will Call, or purchased at the south ticket window in Moody Coliseum (the entry facing the GATA Fountain and campus mall).

Sing Song is the brainchild of vice president emeritus Dr. Robert D. Hunter (’52), one of ACU’s longtime imagineers who has helped author dozens of campus traditions. About one-third of ACU’s 4,500 students participate in this annual musical spectacle, donning hand-made costumes and singing their hearts out in a show that, for many, helps define their college experience. Alumni – many of whom once performed in Sing Song – flock back to campus each February to see what this year’s students will come up with next in their music, choreography, humor, and overall creativity.

Six talented students entertain the audience as hosts and hostesses between acts featuring ACU classes, social clubs and other organizations. This year’s group includes:

  • Jocelyn Groves, junior biology major from Lubbock;
  • Corinne Morris, junior electronic media major from Abilene;
  • Chris Randell, senior marketing major from Abilene;
  • Brynn Smith, junior theatre major from Fort Worth;
  • Seth Womack, junior theatre major from Justin; and
  • Isaac Wright, junior exercise science major from Abilene.

Co-chairs of 2012 Sing Song are Amy Archer, senior nursing major from Pflugerville; Cody Bowden, senior management major from Crowley; and Carly Branscum, junior journalism and mass communication major from Fort Worth.
